The pupils in Room 5 visited ‘The Bear Factory’ in Aberdeen and made Builly Bear. Afterwards they had a picnic at Hazelhead.
Everyone enjoyed the recent St Andrew’s Got Talent contest held recently. It was won by Room 16 student Scott Walker with his rendition of Dancing Queen and runner up was Joe Campbell (Room 6) who recited Bob the Builder.
On a Royal Wedding theme, some of the classes looked at the Royal family tree. The secondary students looked back at Royal Weddings over the years and took part in an online quiz about the Royal Wedding. Students and staff brought in family wedding photos and looked at changing fasions and some dressed up in fancy clothes or hats and a there were some Royal toasts to mark the occasion.
Last Sunday (May 8) there wer about 130 registrations for the 5k sponsored walk at Tom’s Forest. This included pupils, family members and school staff. Everyone was in good spirit in spite of the pouring rain and everyone enjoyed the walk.
Medals were given out to St Andrew’s pupils that took part and it was great to see some former pupils join in.
Kintore Rotary organised the event, for which the school is grateful. Their members were placed at various points to direct the walkers, while other Rotarians took part in the walk. A welcome bottle of water was handed out at the half-way point.
