Having made a return to television screens this year, Stars in their Eyes is also back, live on stage, in Inverurie for its fifth year.
The charity event, featuring six local singers as their favourite pop stars, will take place on Saturday, April 4, at Inverurie Town Hall.
The show is staged by local film and theatre company Right Here Productions and so far it has raised around £6,000 for charity. This year, they have even gained celebrity endorsement in the form of a good luck video from the show’s most famous host, Matthew Kelly.
to view the video go to Youtube and seach for “Matthew Kelly - Stars in their Eyes 2015”.
Inverurie’s own Matthew Kelly, aka Dan Greavey, said, “Every year we raise more money for charity and we’re hoping this year will be our best yet. We are also delighted that the real Matthew was willing to give his time to personally wish us good luck.”
Preparations are already underway and the team were recently filming an intro video featuring the ‘judges’ for the night, Leigh Ryrie, Keith Ross and Callum Bell. “We have judges, just like Britain’s Got Talent, but in actual fact, it’s the audience that choose the winner. The top three contestants will receive a cheque for their chosen charity. Last year’s winner, Jordan Abberley (appearing as Will Young) won a massive £750 for Sue Ryder Care. Jordan will be back to sing for us again this year.”
Tickets are available now from Dan 07901856735, or Alison 07742343788. Due to licensing rules, tickets must be sold prior to the event and you’ll have to be quick - last year the show sold out a month in advance. Tickets can be bought individually, or as a table of eight.
