A drama teacher from Ellon has been working with Robert Gordon College students as they stage their senior school musical production of Calamity Jane at Aberdeen Arts Centre.
The show runs until tomorrow, Friday, November 14 with tickets already sold out for their last performance.
Calamity Jane is the Wild West tale and nickname of Martha Jane Cannary who was a frontierswomen in the 1800s. Her renowned kindness and compassion towards the sick and injured aligns with the 260 year old values of Robert Gordon, the college’s founder, that remain integral to the school today.
Show director and Head of drama - Andrew Milarvie from Ellon - has been heavily involved in the production and has been impressed by the teamwork and enthusiasm from all involved.
Andrew said: “By bringing our artistic, musical and technical stage craft together we have created a musical extravaganza to tap your feet and sing along to. Everyone enjoyed creating the Wild West atmosphere using the costumes, lighting, set design and music to bring the production alive.”
The show starts at 7.30pm tonight (Thursday) and tomorrow with tickets priced at £12 for adults and £10 for concessions.
