A design assistant from an Inverurie firm has been named Miss Great Britain Aberdeen.
Urusla Carlton, who works at the town’s Laing’s, said she was “incredibly honoured” to have been awarded the title.
She will now take part in the national final which is being held at The Athena in Leicester on September 23.
Ursula, who grew up in Nairn, works as part of a team at Laings, assisting with kitchen, bedroom and modular furniture design, after graduating with distinction from The British Academy of Interior Design in December 2015.
A delighted Ursula said of her success: “I am incredibly honoured to be awarded the title of Miss Great Britain Aberdeen.
“I have been given an excellent opportunity to represent Aberdeen and the North of Scotland, and for this I am so grateful.
“It allows me to have a platform to give back to communities, and to celebrate and promote the excellent work that businesses and charities do in this area. I look forward to the preparation in the lead up to the finals of Miss Great Britain and the responsibilities that come with it.’’
Claire Walker, director of Laings who are sponsoring Ursula said: “Ursula is a valued member of the Laings team and in her spare time contributes a great deal to her local community through charitable works.
“We wish her the best of luck for the competition and will be cheering her on for the finals.”
