The Aberdeenshire Youth Orchestra performed to an audience at Inverurie Academy last month.
The orchesta, led by Alistair Fyfe, performed following its annual residential course on Sunday, June 26.
Soloist Daniel Silcock, currently a second year piano student at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, joined the Aberdeenshire Youth Orchestra to perform a programme featuring the music of Britten, Rachmaninov and others.
Around 60 orchestral musicians rehearsed for four days at the University of Aberdeen under the professional direction of conductor Susan Dingle to prepare for the Inverurie concert.
Chair of Aberdeenshire Council’s Education, Learning and Leisure Committee, Cllr Alison Evison, said: “It is a pleasure to see Aberdeenshire’s young people growing into such focused and confident musicians.”
Vice-chair of the committee, Cllr Charles Buchan, added: “The council’s Instrumental Music Service does so much to help young people in Aberdeenshire develop their skills and talent and this concert is the culmination of months of hard work by the musicians.”
