The Ythan Singers have been busy rehearsing for their annual Christmas concert “Festive Cheer”.
This year’s event takes place in Ellon Parish Church on Friday, December 12, at 7.30pm.
The programme is comprised of sacred carols and Christmas songs such as “Sing a Joyous Glad Noel” and “When Will We See the Little One”, while the ladies of the choir will count the “Twelve or so Days of Christmas”.
The concert features some of the most beautiful classic carols - “Away in a Manger”, “Coventry Carol”, “See in Yonder Manger Low” as well as new ones by John Rutter - “The Colours of Christmas” and “I Wish You Christmas”.
The Ythan Singers rehearse in Ellon but their members also come from the surrounding area.
Proceeds from the concert will go to Anthony Nolan - the UK’s blood cancer charity and bone marrow register.
Tickets are £8 and £5 concession and may be obtained in advance from choir members or from Hazel Wilkins on 01358 721838.
Hazel said: “For all who enjoy and love Christmas music this is a concert not to be missed.
“Come along and get into the Christmas spirit by joining in the Carols for All.”
Tickets will also be available at the door on the night. After the concert there will be tea/coffee and shortbread for everyone.
The choir will be conducted by Mrs Morag Paton and accompanied by Mrs Rosemary Lund.
