The “fun and friendly” Group currently have 15 members who meet at Oyne Equestrian Centre every Thursday morning between 9.30am and 1pm during term times.

They are looking for new volunteers, who don’t have to be “horsey” types, to help out. They are also on the look out for some sort of accommodation where riders could get ready, eat their snacks, have a cuppa, wait for their ride times, and most importantly, keep warm in the winter.

The Group say that the winter can be extremely hard on the riders, especially those with physical disabilities.

They have obtained planning permission for the erection of a modular building, but would be just as with a large shed or summer house. They are appealing for either funding or a donation of such a building.

Anyone who could either spare some time to volunteer with the Group, who are a registered charity, or who have a modular building / shed / summer house that is surpluss to requirement, or could assist with funding such a building, should contact Lynne Little of Strathbogie Riding for the disabled on (01651) 891733 or e-mail [email protected]
