First Kettlebell Sport Day in Inverurie
The Garioch will play host to some of the top Kettlebell sportsmen and women from across Scotland and the UK including Garioch’s own champions Alan Lyon(UK Pentathlon Champion) and Alaine Ross(Scottish Ladies Pentathlon Champion) this weekend.
Garioch Kettlebells will hold their first Interclub Kettlebell Sport Day on Sunday, September 21, from 9am - 4pm.
Garioch Kettlebells is a training and fitness group practising out of Garioch Sports Trust and was formed last September by UK Pentathlon Champion Alan Lyon to provide opportunities for like minded people to get together to do Kettlebell fitness training and sport. The group has grown from strength to strength with classes full and new members participating weekly.
30 competitors from across the country will compete in the main competition which is a Kettlebell Pentathlon which consists of five single KB lifts (Cleans, Long Cycle Press, Jerk, Half Snatch and Push Press) each of six minute duration, with three weight categories in the Men’s and Women’s competition.
Members of the Scottish Kettlebell National Team will be attending to demonstrate Biathlon and Long Cycle in full 10 minute sets with these world class lifters mixing it up with 24, 28 and 32kg kettlebells.
There is a strong local entry from the Garioch club and from groups in Forth Valley, Buckie, Stirling and Edinburgh and competition will be strong in all of the categories.

There will be lots going on throughout the day for spectators to see and entry is free, come along at any time and support the local team and find out more about this very fast growing sport..
