Colony Park Juniors won their penultimate league match of the season, beating Fraserburgh 1-0, to take them back to the top of the PMAC Group League Div 1 East.

From the start Colony attacked Fraserburgh and forced an early corner which the defence cleared. Fraserburgh hit back with a couple of efforts before Colony had a chance in the 12th minute but Keir shot was well blocked.

On 19 minutes Calvin Roddie had a good run and put in a great cross which just eluded Dorrat as he stretched for the ball. Keir then put an excellent through ball to Strachan and his cross once again eluded Dorrat as he slid in on the ball.

Colony almost took the lead in 23 minutes when Roddie passed to Brown and his goal bound shot was cleared off the line by the Fraserburgh defender.

Colony continued to dominate and Brown just failed to get on the end of a cross from Strachan, Dorrat had a shot palmed away by the Fraserburgh keeper in 38 minutes, and on 42 minutes Dorrat put through Strachan on goal and his shot hit the top of the bar. However, at the interval the score remained goalless.

At the start of the second half Colony continued to attack seeking the opening goal of the match. Keir had a couple of efforts while in 52 minutes Dorrat shot over the bar from seven yards.

Four minutes later Colony forced a corner, and from the kick Ross CROSBIE headed the ball into the Fraserburgh net giving Colony Park a one goal lead.

Unfortunately Crosbie injured his shoulder in scoring the goal and had to be replaced by Barry Peden. In 66 minutes Brown went on great run with his shot just going wide of the goal. The same player had a header saved a few minutes later.

In 81 minutes a pass from McTavish put Strachan through on goal, who hit a fierce shot but the Fraserburgh keeper brought off a great save to deny him from increasing Colony Park’s lead.

Colony Park maintained their challenge for the league title and moved back to the top, however Bridge of Don Thistle and Cruden Bay have four and five games respectively in hand on Colony and these one of these teams remains favourite to
win the league.
