A delighted manager Alan Gordon commented, “Today was about ensuring we didn’t lose and we had numerous opportunities to win the game but fair play to Huntly who even with ten men played the game to the end.
“We can now savour this victory, a good number of these players have been with the club for more than a decade, and I’m delighted for them. We had a big squad and had to use four different keepers during the season and also had to deal with losing our regular keeper Tristan Ross in the early part of the season, Cammy Garden came in and has done a great job for us.
“Most weeks we have had to leave guys out and have had five on the bench, but the commitment has been first class and most have accepted that the big squad has been good competition for places. I’d like to thank Jim Hay and Graeme Macdonald for their support and coaching throughout the season and all the players who thoroughly deserved this title.”
