Formartine United rattled in eight goals for the second week running when they blitzed Lossiemouth 8-2 at Grant Park on Saturday.
It is clear evidence of improvement on last season’s vulnerability to dropping points to teams further down the table.
Goals are coming from throughout the side with eight different players getting on the scoresheet in the wins at Lossie and Deveronvale.
United were fast out of the blocks and were two up in seven minutes.
The fifth minute opener came from an accurate delivery by Barbour to Anderson who stooped low to nod home. The next was due reward to Barbour, who Lossie struggled to pin down, and he powered his way into the box to rattle the ball past Hall from ten yards.
But the Moray men hit back in the 10th minute and Flett scored from the penalty spot after Archibald had been brought down by Smith.
With three goals in the first ten minutes, this was going to be a goal fest and Formartine – killer instincts restored - produced another two goals in the next ten.
Paul Lawson’s 16th minute free kick from 20 yards was curled over the wall and neatly inside the keeper’s left upright. Two minutes later it was 4-1 when Stuart Smith’s back post effort found the net via his knee following a corner.
Into the second half and Formartine were back at full throttle and scored twice in the opening three minutes.
Lawson completed his double with another scintillating free kick – a mirror image of the first.
A minute later and it was 6-1 with Anderson completing his double. A free kick caused mayhem in the Lossie box and the Formartine man took advantage to drive home a half volley from the edge of the area.
Lossie refused to give up and pulled another goal back in the 64th minute when hesitation in the visiting defence allowed Archibald in on a one-on-one and he slotted the ball past Reid.
With ruthless efficiency, Formartine took the centre and without yielding possession worked the ball via Lawson, Anderson, and Barbour to Rodger who drew the keeper and picked his spot from 15 yards.
Formartine continued to dominate and the central defensive trio of Bell, Flett and Hector were beginning to ride their luck in taking turn about to foul Formartine forwards - Barbour in particular - and required some talking to and card-waving by referee MacFarlane.
Barbour made it 8-2 in the closing minutes, working the ball along the edge of the box before firing home through a gap.
