Formartine United kept up their title push with a 4-1 home win over Deveronvale on Wednesday night.
United were a goal down at the interval against a stuffy Vale side but stormed back for a victory margin that had at one stage looked highly unlikely.
With rivals Brora and Cove both winning, Formartine remain four points behind the Sutherland club with a game in hand.
United had to reshuffle their defence due to injury but Smith and Munro, who were drafted in, claimed three of the goals.
Vale made it hard going for the home side in the first half and went in front in the 35th minute.
Soutar picked up a loose ball and clipped it over to Fraser who headed home.
The second half was an entirely different affair and United drew level on the restart.
Munro muscled his way through the defence and fired the ball home from close range.
The home side intensified the pressure and took the lead in the 61st minute.
In-form Neil Gauld was lurking at the far post to nod home a Masson cross.
Vale’s Krobot was sent off in the 79th minute for a second yellow card and immediately Smith made it 3-1 from close in.
Two minutes later the same player added a fourth when he collected a rebound and clipped it beyond the keeper.
Next up for United is a visit to Turriff United on Saturday.
