Scott Buchan(Co Manager, Inverurie Locos) said after the game, “It was a poor game, conditions dictated that.
“Two good teams but overhead and underfoot, it wasn’t the game it could’ve been. But that’s the Highland League. This is a difficult place to come and get three points.
“Fraserburgh have been on a very good run so we’re delighted to get the three points. I thought it was very important to win the toss. We spoke about it before the game. I’ve been here with Locos before as captain, and picked to play the right way in the first half. It was a Semi Final and we won it.
“You have to battle through it, it’s psychological. The wind was getting stronger and stronger, it was a nightmare, we couldn’t get out of our own half. It’s farcical if I’m honest and there’s an argument for games not being played in those conditions.
“But it worked in our favour. We got the break with the penalty, we’ll see it again on the SHFL TV highlights. I think their player slipped but it was a handball.
“Deano put it away but it was just a case of getting the sleeves rolled up and get wired in. Fraserburgh did that as well
“Goals give you confidence. Deano was just happy to get back on the goalscoring trail, we wanted him back scoring again, he’s been frustrated at being on the bench recently. This was a day for him, he got his two goals.
“Greg Mitchell was brilliant too, he was unlucky getting sent off against Keith and not managing to get his place back. He’s got it due to Ross Anderson being sent off last week and has done himself a power of good.”
