One of Ellon most established recreational groups is keen to attract new members to its weekly meetings at Ellon Bowling Club, writes Jack Nixon.
Ellon Bridge Club scorer Joe Russell threw out a challenge to card players in the town who might like to sharpen their skills, and take up the game of bridge.
Mr Russell said: “You don’t have to be an expert card player, in fact we welcome beginners, and would be happy to offer training sessions for prospective members.
“Most of all it is good fun, though once you get the bug, it becomes quite competitive.”
He urged anyone with a love of cards to get in touch with the current chairman Ralph Watson and come along to the meetings.
The club has been in existence for more than 50 years, first meeting in the McDonald Golf Club before moving to its new home at Ellon Bowling Club in Union Street.
Anyone interested can contact Mr Watson on 01358 722 898.
