ABERDEEN FC’s first team squad teed up for the new season with a light-hearted team-building event at Aberdeen’s newest golfing attraction, Gamola Golf.
The Dons players, as well as manager Craig Brown and assistant Archie Knox, visited The Locker Room, part of Gamola Golf, on Monday, (July 16).
The event, which saw the Dons get an exclusive first shot at The Locker Room’s five large virtual golf simulators, before the brand new facility officially opens today, Thursday, July 19.
Manager Craig Brown was delighted with the hospitality provided by Gamola, saying: “We’re extremely grateful to Gamola and all its excellent team for having us here. It really is a superb environment and I’m sure we’ll be back in the near future.”
Mr Brown added: “We’re always looking for new team-building venues and Gamola has surpassed anything we’ve tried before in terms of the players’ happiness and levels of enthusiasm.”
A number of fun competitions were held amongst the players at the Market Street venue, formerly the International Casino. Longest drive was won by defender Andy Considine, who hit 297 yards. Nearest the pin was team captain Russell Anderson.
Additionally, the players competed in games against each other on some of the world’s premier golf courses. The simulators offer virtual access to more than 130 courses, including Kingsbarns, The Belfry and Celtic Manor.
The Locker Room, which also features a bar and restaurant area for more than 120 people, is open to the public from Thursday, July 19.
Prices for virtual golf at the Locker Room are £30 per hour per simulator for a maximum of four people, with special packages available for group bookings. The venue will be open from 10am to midnight, seven days a week.
