Ellon Bowling Club recognised the hard work of one of its long-standing members at the club’s recent EGM, writes Phil Anderson.
Albert Low made the club’s new honours board and in recognition of his efforts over the years, a plaque bearing his name will hang below the new board.
Club secretary Allan Giles said: “Every year we send Albert a letter thanking him for all the work he does at the club.
“This year the committee decided that it would be a fitting tribute to recognise Albert’s hard work by having his details below the club honours board.
“The success of Ellon Bowling Club is down to the hard work of members like Albert and the club would like to thank him for all his help over the years.”
On the green, things have been going well for Ellon in the Buchan League.
They defeated New Deer 76-38 away from home. The triple of Charlie Singer, Gary Simpson and Craig Dinnes were in fine form with a 36-6 win over Sandy Elrick’s trio.
Ellon now top the table along with New Pitsligo.
The leading two meet in the next round of fixtures in a match that could go a long way towards deciding this year’s league championship.
