Inverurie Golf Club got their season off to a flying start on Saturday with a Stableford Competition.
A mixture of rain, sunshine and windy conditions made life difficult for those participating.
Club captain Ian Keith commented: “It was a little bit damp as we set out but within a few holes the sun came out and gave us improved conditions.
“The course was in great condition and thanks have to go to our green keeping staff who have been especially busy over the winter months.
“There was the usual fun competition to guess how far my drive would be short of the pin so I had to be content with leaving just 97 yards to get there!”
Mr Keith continued: “The Club was very busy at night with a sell out for our Indian Curry Night and a new vocalist to the area kept the members and guests entertained throughout the evening.
“It was especially pleasing to see a few newly joined members on Opening Day and memberships are still available.
Mr Keith added: “We hope that by holding our fees again this year it will lead to an uptake in membership for the season.”
