A young Ellon golfer recently won the Paul Lawrie Junior Jug at Moray Golf Club.
Stephen Roger, whose home club is Cruden Bay, shot 77, 68 and 72 for a total of 217.
Stephen, 17, battled tough conditions in the morning of the first round with a strong wind blowing over the Lossiemouth course.
He returned a 3-under par second round of 68 and was sitting in second place after two rounds.
Stephen was five shots behind the leader at that point - Glen Burrett from Haggs Castle.
There was a cut after the opening two rounds and the top 40 players plus ties went through to the final round.
It was played in steady rain which cleared up after around eight holes.
Stephen played extremely well and fired a one over par 72 to win the trophy.
The plus 1 handicapper has been enjoying fine form in recent weeks.
He finished 25th in the Scottish Youths Championship at Irvine, then fifth in the Scottish Boys Championship at Royal Burgess prior to his Junior Jug win.
Stephen said he was privileged to have won the Paul Lawrie trophy as the former Open champion does so much for junior golf in the North-east.
He added: “It is such as prestigious event to win.”
