Younger stars help Garioch

GARIOCH’S younger swimmers turned out in full force on Sunday, (May 27), to compete in the Aberdeen Dolphin Novice Gala at Northfield Swimming pool.

For some Garioch Amateur Swimming Club members this was their first competition, yet every swimmer gave it their all and many walked away with medals.

Cameron Crawford, aged 10, even walked away with a trophy for Best Performance by a boy in his age group.

The following swimmers won medals in their respective age groups:

Megan Brown (11): gold 50m backstroke; gold 50m freestyle; Chloe Grant (11): gold 50m breaststroke; silver 50m freestyle; silver 50m backstroke; Cameron Crawford (10): silver 50m butterfly; bronze 50m breaststroke; Phelim McNally (10): bronze 50m butterfly; Neil Johnston (9): bronze 25m butterfly

Avery Collins (11), Sophie Gall (11), Mitchell Grant (9), Robyn Gray (11), Logan Hendry (8), Ellice McIntosh (8), Gemma Ogg (11), Nicole Ogg (9), Kayleigh O’Grady (8), Mikey Smith (9), Lauren Stewart (9), Hannah Strachan (9), and Thomas Thow (10) also did a great job of representing Garioch and made significant improvements in their times.
