Ythan CC rider Colin Duncan proved that he isn’t slowing down this season as he flew to his second fastest ever 10 mile TT at Invergordon, writes Malcolm Grant.
Up against former 100 mile TT Champion Callum Finlayson (Moray Firth TT), the Inverurie rider recorded 21m 58s on the A9 course that was hosting the Ronnie McDonald Memorial event but Finlayson went even faster with a stunning 21m 19s time, which also pipped his teammate Eric Innes.
After such a strong performance Duncan will head into this weekend’s double header of time trials in Aviemore with confidence and as a fomer winner of the Cairngorm Mountain TT he will start as one of the favourites.
The ascent of Cairngorm starts at Coylumbridge and finishes at the main car park with the weekend also featuring a 10 mile TT.
Last Sunday saw the first cyclo cross race of the 15-16 season and Malcolm Cooper and Andy Scouller had made the trip south for the Beveridge Park Cyclo Cross in Kirkcaldy.
Cooper rode to 38th overall and 10th in the 40-49 age group while Scouller was 61st overall and 18th in the 30-39 age group.
