New Short Game Practice Facility proves a great hit

In April 2016 Inverurie Golf Club opened their new Short Game Practice Facility, which offers a variety of challenges for members and guests.

The area, conveniently located just a short walk from the Clubhouse, includes a 450 square yard green with pitching targets and putting area.

Two bunkers guard the green and three all weather mats are placed at various distances for pitching.

A multitude of shots can be played, from ‘bump and run’ shots to tricky lob shots. Inverurie Golf Club is very proud of this new addition to the course.

Fiona Murray, Club Manager, said: “ This is part of our goal to improve the golfing experience at the Club.

“Since opening the facility in April it has been widely used by members and visitors and it also integral in supporting our Junior Clubgolf and Adult “Get into Golf” Development programmes.

Junior Captain, Michael Donaldson, also added: “The new practice area is just brilliant.

“ Derek, our Course Manager, and his Green Keepers have done a fantastic job.

“With such a great facility to practice on there’s no excuses for a poor short game on the course anymore!

“Here’s hoping it will encourage more juniors to come up and give it a try and maybe even bring their friends to have a go too.

“Money well spent!”

Inverurie Golf Club is always seeking new members in all categories.
