Aberdeen is looking forward to welcoming back a top comedian this spring.
Russell Howard will be taking to the stage on March 13, at the Exhibition and Conference Centre (AECC).
Funny man, Russell Howard, one of the UK’s most successful comedians, is gearing up for his live stand-up, with his first tour for three years.
The tour - ‘Wonderbox’ comes after his UK tour in 2011 - Right Here Right Now - which was a sell-out and included two separate dates at the AECC venue.
In this new show, Russell promises audiences more of his trademark brand of upbeat and razor-sharp comedy.
AECC Managing Director, Brian Horsburgh, said: “Having performed at the AECC Arena to a great response in the past, we are looking forward to the return of Russell Howard.
“He performs the week after British Comedy Award winner Jack Whitehall, making March 2014 a great month for comedy in the North-east!”
The comedian is most known for being the star of BBC Three’s most successful entertainment show Russell Howard’s Good News, which he also writes.
The 8th series started in Spring 2013 and since its debut in 2009, ratings have shot up from 1.7 million a week to a peak of over 3.9 million tuning in.
Its success saw series six of the programme move to the prime-time slot of 9pm where ratings rose to a peak of over 5 million weekly viewers.
Good News is regularly the number one show on iPlayer across all BBC channels.
His three bestselling live stand-up DVDs include, Russell Howard Live (2008), Russell Howard Live: Dingledodies (2009) and Right Here, Right Now (2011).
The Wonderbox DVD will be released in Autumn 2014.
Tickets for the show are on sale now and are priced at £27.50 plus booking fee.
